Asselin, Christian

Christian Asselin is the Chief Audit Executive (CAE) and Head of Evaluation at Natural Resources Canada. He has over 30 years’ experience in the areas of governance, risk, internal controls, continuous auditing, financial management, fraud detection and prevention and change management. Christian is considered a trusted advisor to senior management and focus on continuous improvement. As CAE in two Departments, Christian directed self-assessment with Independent Validation. Christian has been a presenter at numerous events organised by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) in North America. Christian holds a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA, CMA) and Certified Fraud Examination (CFE) designation. In 2016, Christian was awarded by the Ottawa Chapter of the IIA, the Brian Aiken Award of Excellence for his outstanding and exceptional service to the profession of internal auditing.
