Thomas, Archie

Archie R Thomas, CIA FCPA FCMA CFE C.Dir, is a Consulting Internal Auditor in governance, risk, control quality and training.  He has worked in fifteen countries in mining, energy, utilities, retail, education, health care and government.  He is on the Advisory Council of ClearView Strategic Partners Inc, on the faculty of The Directors College, an IIA Distinguished Faculty Member, a qualified Internal Audit Quality Assessor/Validator and a frequent speaker on internal audit internationally.

Previously Archie was CAE at a multi-national mining and metals group where he transformed a traditional internal audit department into a respected contributor to company performance.

A dynamic speaker and passionate advocate for our profession, Archie believes in the value of our professional guidance and that conformance with our Standards can drive value, quality and agility in our services.  Relatedly, he has participated in several guidance, quality, and professionalism initiatives for the Global IIA.

 Archie is a director of IIA Canada and a member of the Global IIA Professional Responsibility and Ethics Committee. He is a past director of Global IIA and a past chair of its Audit, Quality and International Relations Committees.  He is a recipient of the Global IIA’s Victor Z Brink Award for Distinguished Service, IIA Canada’s Lifetime Achievement Award and is an Honourary Member of the IIA Toronto Chapter.
