Fraud Facts and an Effective Fraud Response Plan in the Age of Disruption
This session will contribute to the conference theme of “the agile auditor in the age of disruption” through the “disruptive forces and fraud schemes” path by providing internal auditors with thoughts and tools on how to be an agile auditor in response to fraud schemes. All organizations face disruption and exposure to fraud risk. How an organization and auditor deal with disruption and fraud can be both a challenge and an opportunity for the internal auditor. This session will help to align internal audit with resiliency and adaptability to become an agile auditor to add value to their organization. It will contribute to the conference theme helping the internal auditor to manage and respond to disruption. Further it will support the auditor in becoming more agile in response to increased stakeholder expectations of a more effective and dynamic internal audit function and an increased focus on managing the risk of fraud. Fraud continues to evolve and the internal auditor needs to be agile in response to developing fraud risks. The session will be intended to provide the internal audit function with an increased understanding of the risks and specific tools and responses that can support the internal audit function in being agile in responding to frauds.
